The party

The party rocked, despite the rain.  450 people, including clients, suppliers, competitors, colleagues and alumni, made light of the intermittently torrential downpour to christen the building with all the style, energy, enthusiasm and alcoholic bonhomie for which LBi is known in these situations.

The mix was eclectic, musically, professionally and socially. New media magnates rubbed shoulders with magazine editors, project managers swapped war stories with account managers, and architects of all flavours (experience, technical, ‘real’) got soaked queueing for burgers together. It was a blast.

UK CEO Ewen Sturgeon and UK MD Anil Pillai disagreed about the dress code at the beginning of the evening - Ewen told Anil that chequered headscarves were inappropriate, Anil told Ewen that he couldn’t be serious…

…but they soon settled their differences.

As night fell, we departed the building and moved next door to 93 Feet East. The record becomes unreliable at this point, although witnesses relate that the revels didn’t stop until long after day returned again.

Regular readers will note that it’s taken me over a week to recover from the party and get back online. That’s not an excuse, it’s a vindication of Atlantis Day, as the second Friday in July is destined to become known in the annals of the agency. It really was a cracking session. As noted previously, it was a long, long time coming and when it arrived we made the most of it.

And now to work.
